Life Story & Testimonies

"Integrating biblical principles into our daily operations fundamentally revolutionized our corporate culture and expanded our community footprint."

Wakida Steven

While serving in a senior corporate role, an overwhelming departmental crisis unfolded that threatened to wipe out half of our company’s entire business. The weight on my shoulders was crushing, especially knowing my team’s livelihoods were on the line. In the midst of the chaos, everyone I turned to for answers expected under-the-table bribes. Though tempted by the sheer desperation of the situation, I chose to stand firm. Right before a critical meeting, the Holy Spirit clearly spoke to my heart, telling me to walk away and attend the ICCC gathering instead. As I stepped into that room, a profound sense of peace washed over me. I fully surrendered the crisis to God, and in His perfect way, He miraculously fought my battle and completely resolved the issue.

Years ago, while leading the Kampala ICCC chapter, I went out for a quiet dinner at Café Pap—a beautiful, pioneering restaurant owned by fellow ICCC members. The venue was absolutely bustling with corporate professionals when a sudden, unexpected power outage plunged the entire place into darkness. Tensions quickly began to rise because their automatic standby generator completely failed to start, despite frantic mechanical attempts to fix it. Seeing the distress of the owners, we felt a deep, faith-driven prompting to step into the generator room. Drawing strength from the powerful testimonies of our founder, we laid our hands directly on the dead machinery and prayed. Within minutes, the generator miraculously roared to life, restoring light, business, and an overwhelming sense of awe to everyone present.

When I first started my journey as a young insurance agent, I quickly discovered a harsh marketplace reality: landing major corporate clients almost always required paying backroom kickbacks. My heart deeply wrestled with this, but the bold, uncompromising teachings on integrity at ICCC meetings ignited a fire inside my soul. I made a definitive choice to stand by my Christian values, even when it hurt. That decision cost me dearly at first, including losing a massive contract with a major organization. Yet, God proved beautifully faithful. After that intense test of faith, He opened doors to honorable, clean business opportunities beyond my wildest dreams. Without ever giving a single bribe, I was ultimately recognized as the top insurance agent at AIG, winning multiple national awards.

As the sitting President of ICCC Uganda, I felt a deep responsibility to attend our regional gathering in Nairobi, but I was navigating an incredibly difficult personal season after transitioning out of formal employment. Though I managed to scrape together my airfare, I had absolutely zero money for accommodation just a day before my flight. Choosing to quiet my anxieties, I spent the morning in prayer and simply chose to trust. In an breathtaking turn of events, a potential client I hadn't heard from in four months suddenly called. They insisted on signing a contract and paying me entirely in cash that very afternoon. It was five times the amount I needed, ushering me into a new season of effortless, divine marketplace provision.
